22 Oct 2014 MANILA - Residents captured a 10-foot long boa (correction: python) in Gagalangin, Tondo on Tuesday. Barangay 180 resident Emy Ramos said they saw the snake when it lifted its head out of the water. She said a number of residents in the area keep doves—a common prey for snakes—as pets. The residents helped one another in catching the snake. Resident Jonathan Vicena was even wounded when his finger touched the snake’s tooth. This is the third time that a snake was found in the barangay. The second snake that was caught was even longer, measuring 12 feet. A barangay official explained that this could be because the area used to be a paddy field. He said it is likewise possible that the snake’s hiding place was disturbed when a demolition in a nearby barangay took place. He added that they will trace where the snake came from as it may have laid eggs in the area. The snake will be turned over to the Parks and Wildlife Bureau. - report from Francis Faulve, ABS-CBN News Source: www.abs-cbnnews.com/video/nation/metro-manila/10/22/14/watch-10-foot-snake-caught-tondo
