Pampanga targets P1-B quarry revenues for 2014 Mark Manuel January 7, 2014 City Of San Fernando, Pampanga — With the rising demand in sand and gravel for construction in the Philippines and abroad, Pampanga is targeting a P1-billion revenue collection from the quarrying industry in the province for the first half of January 2014, a high-ranking official said yesterday. Engr. Art Punsalan, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) chief, said the target is highly possible as the province quarry revenues hit P933,685,000, the biggest collection in three years since Governor Lilia G. Pineda assumed office on July 1, 2010. The Kapampangan A Lulugud at Matapat (Kalam), the administrative body that manages and supervises the quarry operations in the province, said collections in July to December 2010 totalled P119,395,000; P238,380,000 (January to December 2011); P292,017,500 (January to December 2012); and, P283, 902,500 for the whole of 2013. The amount includes fees collected from quarry taxes, sand and gravel fees, weighing scale fees, anti-overloading fees and accreditation of other vehicles.
